About Trio Neos
 TRIO NEOS (clarinet, bassoon, piano) is an ensemble of prestigious musicians living and working in Mexico. Its members started as orchestral musicians and soloists, but have increasingly focused on chamber music and have achieved a high level of excellence in this most demanding genre.
Since its foundation in 1986, TRIO NEOS has developed a tonal quality and style of its own. As its name indicates, the group is primarily dedicated to exploring novel areas of chamber music with a repertoire that ranges from little-known classical works to contemporary compositions.
TRIO NEOS has toured extensively in Mexico and recorded a series of programs for public television. The group received the 1989 award in chamber music given by the National Council for the Arts. In 1990 they toured Latin and South America and in 1991 the United States. In 1993 they received, from the Fund for Culture Mexico/USA, a grant to commission works from American composers. In 1994 they toured the United States, including their Carnegie Hall debut. In 1996 they toured Russia, performing Russian new music in conjunction with their repertoire of Mexican contemporary music. In 1997 they were again awarded from the Fund for Culture Mexico/USA a grant for their project to commission works from Latin American women, premiering them in Carnegie Hall in 1998.
TRIO NEOS has recorded four compact discs; the first of contemporary Mexican music, the second of Latin American music, the third of women composers of the Americas, and the fourth of romantic music. Most of the recorded works have been dedicated to and composed for TRIO NEOS. TRIO NEOS has been instrumental in supporting contemporary composers, creating and performing a novel repertoire in the United States, Latin and South America.
